Information on client-side calculation privacy, hosting logs, tag deployment, and prospective advertising disclosures.
1. Client-Side Mathematical Operations
AutoFuelCalc provides automotive calculation tools designed to perform mathematical conversions (such as MPG, km/L, L/100km, and trip fuel costs) client-side in your web browser.
When you input numbers into our calculators—such as odometer readings, fuel consumption figures, travel distance, or local retail fuel prices—those values are processed locally on your device via JavaScript. AutoFuelCalc does not transmit, harvest, or store your vehicle calculation parameters on backend databases.
If you elect to use the URL sharing feature, calculation parameters are encoded into the URL search string (query parameters) so you can bookmark or share the direct link. These parameters remain in your browser's address bar and are not stored in a persistent database by AutoFuelCalc.
2. Hosting Infrastructure & Technical Server Logs
This website is statically pre-rendered and served through content delivery networks (including Cloudflare Pages). When any web browser or automated client accesses website assets (HTML, stylesheets, scripts, or images), standard network communication protocols automatically log technical connection data.
These automated operational logs may record:
- Internet Protocol (IP) address (which may be processed or truncated for security and regional routing).
- Browser user-agent, version, and operating system.
- Requested resource paths, referring URLs, and query parameters.
- Date, time, and duration of the web server request.
- HTTP status codes and data transfer volumes.
These logs are used by hosting and infrastructure providers for site performance optimization, security monitoring, fraud prevention, and mitigating malicious traffic such as Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks.
3. Tag Management & Analytics Technologies
AutoFuelCalc embeds Google Tag Manager (container ID: GTM-PLV8429K). Google Tag Manager is a container system that enables the deployment of code snippets, operational scripts, or measurement tags.
Depending on the specific measurement tags active in the container, cookies, local storage, or pixel technologies may be utilized to measure aggregated site usage, identify broken navigation, evaluate page load performance, or detect user interaction flows.
Visitors may manage, block, or delete cookies and tracking scripts through their web browser privacy settings or by installing standard browser privacy extensions.
4. Prospective Advertising & Third-Party Cookies
AutoFuelCalc does not currently display commercial advertising units. However, we are preparing for potential monetization through advertising programs, including Google AdSense and other advertising networks.
If and when advertising services are activated on this website:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies, device identifiers, or web beacons to serve advertisements based on a user's prior visits to this website or other sites on the Internet.
- Advertising technologies may be employed to control ad frequency, prevent fraudulent impression activity, measure the technical delivery of ad units, and serve advertisements relevant to user interests.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to AutoFuelCalc and other sites on the web, subject to applicable user privacy choices and regional consent requirements.
5. Personalized Advertising & Privacy Choices
If personalized advertising is enabled, users have choices regarding how their browsing activity is used for interest-based ad targeting:
You can manage how Google personalizes ads shown to you, or opt out of personalized Google advertising entirely:
Google Ads SettingsYou can opt out of interest-based advertising from participating ad networks through industry consumer choice programs:
Please note that opting out of personalized advertising does not prevent advertisements from displaying; it means the ads served will not be customized based on your cross-site browsing history.
6. Regional Privacy Considerations (EEA, UK & US States)
Data privacy regulations—such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Economic Area, the UK GDPR, and consumer privacy legislation in various United States jurisdictions (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act / CPRA)—provide residents with specific rights regarding personal information.
AutoFuelCalc does not require user accounts, does not maintain customer databases, and does not sell personal driving data. Prior to launching commercial ad units in jurisdictions requiring consent (such as the EEA and UK), AutoFuelCalc intends to integrate a certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) conforming to recognized industry frameworks (such as IAB TCF v2.2) to collect and record granular cookie consent.
7. Policy Updates & Operational Changes
We may revise this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our calculation tools, hosting arrangements, tag deployments, or advertising partnerships.
Any updates will be posted directly to this page with a revised "Last Updated" date at the top. We encourage visitors to review this page periodically to stay informed about our data handling practices.
